About Prana Hot Yoga

Where Every Body Finds Their Strength

In the heart of uptown Fredericton, we've created more than just another yoga studio. We've built a sanctuary where real people with real lives discover that wellness doesn't require perfection, just the willingness to show up exactly as you are.

A Story That Might Sound Familiar

Picture this: You're juggling work, family, and a hundred other responsibilities. You know you should be taking better care of yourself, but when? And where? You've tried fitness routines that felt more like punishment than self care. You've walked into spaces where everyone seemed to already know what they were doing, where they belonged, and you... didn't.

Maybe you've caught yourself struggling with everyday movements that used to be effortless. Getting up from the floor after playing with kids. Reaching for something on a high shelf. That persistent tension in your shoulders from hours at your desk. You know something needs to change, but you're not sure where to start.

If any of this resonates, you're not alone. In fact, you're exactly why Prana Hot Yoga exists.

The Wisdom That Started It All

Our story begins with a simple question and an even simpler answer. When our founder Leah Cain asked her 93 year old Nana what kept her so young and vibrant, she expected a complex secret. Instead, Nana P. offered one word: "Yoga."

That single word sparked something profound. Here was living proof that the path to aging well wasn't about extreme fitness or impossible standards. It was about consistent, mindful movement that honours your body at every stage of life.

Leah, a Registered Dietitian with over 13 years of experience helping others improve their physical and mental health, understood the science behind her Nana's vitality. But seeing it lived out so beautifully made it personal. It brought her back to her own yoga practice, one that had transformed her life years earlier when she discovered hot yoga in Moncton.

From Personal Practice to Community Vision

Like many of you might experience, life had pushed Leah's yoga practice to the margins. With two young boys and multiple jobs, she found herself squeezing in home videos between responsibilities. The convenience was necessary, but something essential was missing, the energy of practicing alongside others, the accountability of showing up, the magic that happens when people move and breathe together.

More importantly, there wasn't a space in Fredericton where she felt truly comfortable. Where walking in as a busy parent, carrying stress and exhaustion, felt okay. Where being a beginner again, even after years of practice, was welcomed. Where "perfect" wasn't the goal, presence was.

That's when the dots started connecting. Leah's MBA from UNB had given her the business foundation. Her healthcare background provided the knowledge of how bodies work and heal. Her entrepreneurial spirit supplied the courage. And her own struggles gave her the empathy to understand what Fredericton really needed, a different kind of yoga space.

Why "Every Body is a Yoga Body" Isn't Just Our Slogan

At some point in life, we all face the same realization, the way we've been moving (or not moving) isn't serving us anymore. We start asking different questions:

  • How will I stay active and independent as I age?
  • How can I manage this stress that's affecting my health?
  • Why does everything hurt when I'm still relatively young?
  • How do I find time for myself without feeling guilty?
  • Where can I go to feel better without feeling judged?

The answer keeps coming back to flexibility, not just physical, but mental and emotional too. To move well is to be flexible. To age well is to maintain our ability to move. And yoga? It's not about touching your toes or standing on your head. It's about reconnecting with your body, calming your mind, and finding strength you forgot you had.

This is why we built Prana Hot Yoga with innovative FAR infrared heating that makes movement accessible even for the stiffest bodies. Why we created two distinct spaces, our heated Sun Room for those ready to sweat and transform, and our unheated Moon Room for gentler practices. Why our instructors remember their own first classes and teach with compassion, not competition.

Meet Our Founder: Leah Cain

Leah brings a unique combination of healthcare expertise, business acumen, and genuine passion for accessible wellness to Prana Hot Yoga. As a Registered Dietitian, she understands the science of health. As a mother of two young boys, she knows the reality of busy lives. As someone who loves country music, creative cooking, and can never pick a favourite food, she embraces joy in all its forms.

But perhaps most importantly, Leah remembers what it feels like to need yoga but not know where to start. To want community but fear judgment. To crave wellness but struggle with time. This empathy infuses everything about Prana Hot Yoga.

"I didn't realize I was manifesting Prana until all the dots connected. Now I see that every struggle, every barrier I faced in my own practice, was preparing me to create solutions for others. When someone tells me they finally found a place where they feel comfortable, where they belong, I know we're doing exactly what we set out to do." - Leah Cain
